Our dedicated and highly qualified dance teachers are devoted to supporting the growth of our students by creating a learning environment filled with positivity and encouragement. At Linda Virgoe Dance Studios, we are committed to nurturing each individual student, enabling them to develop the passion and confidence in their aptitude for dancing and performing.

Our Principal

Linda Virgoe

Dip RBS TTC, ISTD DDE, RAD Registered, BBO Associate teacher.

I have been dancing for over 47 years and have always had a passion to inspire other dancers.

As well as receiving expert ballet tuition from some of the most highly regarded dance teachers in the country, including Dame Ninette De Valois, she also became fluent in Repertoire, Character, National, Spanish, Benesh Notation, Anatomy and History of Ballet.

Modern, Tap, Jazz & Acrobatic Arts

Amy Daffurn

Amy is the daughter of Linda and trained at LVDS before continuing her training as a dancer and teacher at The Centre Performing Arts College in London. After dancing and choreographing for events in London, Amy made the decision to join the family business as senior teacher and assistant to the principal. She is involved in the daily running of the studios, as well as teaching and Choreographing. Amy is also one of our skilled acrobatic Arts teachers.

Megan Birchley 

Megan trained at LVDS and, after dancing for several events across London and locally, she decided to continue her teaching qualifications with Janet Marshall. Megan was class assistant as a student and it is now lovely to have her as a member of staff teaching at the studios.

Musical Theatre, Drama & Singing

Matthew Kapp

We are excited to have such a motivated and talented performer working at LVDS.
After leaving training at LVDS, Matt pursued a career with Costa cruise lines. Eager to see more of the world and use his voice, he moved to Carnival cruise lines, performing in fantastic shows on many of their ships.
Matt is at the forefront of developing musical theatre at the studios and he is eager to pass his passion for performing onto our pupils.

 

Street Dance

Sharna Townsley

Sharna teaches Urban Flair street classes as well as Drama at LVDS. Sharna trained in physical theatre, dance and performing Arts at Salford University and Gloucester University. After performing, Sharna went on to teach dance and drama in schools and is now a lecturer of performing arts at Gloucester college.

Thomas Walton

After graduating from L.C.P.A in 2008, Thomas performed in West Side story in Ireland and in the Jack and the Beanstalk panto. He has also worked on TV as a dancer. He was featured on the Ireland talent show and Fame, the musical TV series. He also performed as a tap and Irish dancer on the Tony Kenny USA tour. Since then, he has performed around the world with Carnival cruise lines as a dancer, dance captain, production show supervisor and cast manager.
Thomas and Matt will be introducing our training for the boys’ program and partner work for our pupils.

Jasmine Perrins 

Jasmine is a trained dancer who has decided to focus on her other passion gymnastics and has trained and qualified as an Acrobatic Arts teacher.

Gymnastics

Jenny Ford

I am a qualified women’s artistic gymnastics coach and club judge, running gymnastics classes for all ages here at the Studios.

Aerial

Alexa

Alexa is a contemporary aerialist and physical performer based in the South West of England. Having studied performance and physical theatre throughout her education, Alexa discovered that she could expand these skills with the addition of circus in 2014. She then attended Circomedia, Bristol, graduating in June 2018 with a first-class Contemporary Circus and Physical Performance BA (Hons).

As well as performing aerial hoop across the UK, she has also spent a summer teaching circus in Pennsylvania, US and now teaches aerial in various schools and studios across the South West.
